The primary objective of the project was to raise awareness about the importance, values, and potential of the city’s industrial heritage. It aimed to educate various stakeholders to actively engage in the protection of this heritage. Citizens were the main target group and participated in the project activities at two levels: during the preparatory phase (through a survey) and in the final phase (as attendees of the exhibition). This involvement allowed them to gain knowledge and experience essential for taking action in the restoration of industrial heritage.
The exhibition, along with the accompanying catalogue, enhanced the quality of cultural life in the local community by highlighting the space that defines the identity of Liman and the industrial activities—specifically the production of prefabricated concrete elements—that significantly influenced Novi Sad’s construction in the second half of the 20th century.
The project’s innovativeness is reflected in how the research results were presented to the public, utilising audio-visual recordings in an authentic in situ setting.
The event attracted a large number of participants, including architecture and photography students, experts from cultural institutions, current users of the space, and many interested citizens.
