The role of documentary film in the protection of cultural heritage
Documenting cultural heritage is an important part of the process of its identification and protection, which is sometimes a particularly demanding task due to the nature of certain types of heritage.
What are the benefits of audiovisual documentation?
The project opens a number of professional and ethical questions, offering a range of possible answers through theoretical knowledge and experience of good practice, but also contributes to the development of the practice of audiovisual documentation of cultural heritage. The main goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity for audiovisual documentation in the field of protection of tangible and intangible heritage, but also to raise awareness of the role of documentary film in the protection and presentation of cultural heritage.
Expert forum
Based on the screenings of thematic documentaries, dedicated to different types of cultural heritage, lectures and discussion will be held by the directors and screenwriters of the shown films, experts in the field of photo and video documentation of cultural heritage.
The screenings will be open to the general public. After the panel discussion, the conclusions of the debate will be published, with a diagnosis of the current situation in the environment and guidelines for future development.
